Step Up For Students
Use Eligible Scholarship Funds for Atlantis Chess Club
Atlantis Chess Club is an approved Step Up For Students provider. Eligible families may be able to use scholarship funds for qualifying chess programs.
This may include families with:
Students with unique abilities — FES-UA
Students attending private school — FES-EO / FTC
Homeschooled or parent-directed education students — PEP
Families who are unsure which scholarship they have or how to use their available funds

How Students Learn
Students are grouped by chess readiness and skill level:
New to Chess
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
Each session includes structured instruction, practice, reflection, and supervised play so students can learn and progress at the right pace.
Tournament Experience
Atlantis Chess Club members build confidence through structured match play and tournament preparation throughout the year.
Summer Chess Tournament
A seasonal club tournament where members apply what they have learned, practice sportsmanship, and gain tournament experience.

No. Students may join as new, beginner, intermediate, or advanced players.
Your child may start at the next scheduled class, unless it falls on a holiday.

Port St. Lucie families register through the City registration portal. Fort Pierce families register through the Atlantis Chess Club registration options on this website.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete the registration/check-in form for your child.
Students are grouped by chess readiness and skill level.

Missed classes and makeup options are subject to program availability and club policy. Please review our Refund and Cancellation Policy for more information.
Sessions are supervised, attendance is tracked, and students follow clear rules and expectations.
Atlantis Chess Club serves students ages 6–17.
- Fort Pierce Youth Chess Program — Ages 6–17
- Port St. Lucie Youth Chess Program — Ages 6–12
- Atlantis Community Chess — Adults 18+
Weekly chess lessons, monthly tournament prep, certificates, milestone recognition, and leadership opportunities
Yes. A single-session option is available for $30 when space is available.
No. Winter and Summer Tournaments are not included, but members receive monthly tournament prep.
Participation in the Annual Treasure Coast Chess Competition is free. Fees for other Atlantis Chess Club tournaments, if applicable, will be listed with each event.
Atlantis Summer Tournament is planned for June and Atlantis Winter Tournament is planned for December.

Families may include students receiving FES-UA, FES-EO/FTC, or PEP scholarships. Families who are unsure which scholarship they have are also welcome to complete the Step Up Interest Form.
Yes. Elementary, middle, and high school students may have the opportunity to represent their school in the Annual Treasure Coast Chess Competition.
No. Students do not need to be Atlantis Chess Club members to participate in the Annual Treasure Coast Chess Competition. The event is open to eligible elementary, middle, and high school students representing participating schools.
